Welcome to Cairo, Egypt – A local representative will greet you from your international flight and assist with customs and immigration, and then get you transferred to a hotel that overlooks the pyramids. After check-in, remainder of day/evening will be at leisure.

Today, you will be accompanied by your Egyptologist tour guide to the famous Giza Plateau, one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world. Here you will be in awe of the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus, famous Sphinx and Valley temple facing the Great Sphinx. Following this, you will explore the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities including the treasures room of the child King Tutankhamun. Drive to Old Islamic Cairo, where you will be able to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest Bazaar with time to collect those all important Egyptian hand crafted souvenirs and gifts.

Fly to Luxor. On arrival at Luxor, you will be met and assisted by our representetive and transferred to your Nile River cruise. After embarkation, you will enjoy a delicious lunch on board before being collected with your Egyptologist tour guide to visiting the famous Karnak and Luxor temples in Luxor. Back to the Nile River cruise for evening dinner with time for an optional tour of the Karnak Sound and Light Show, if you would like to make the most of your time in Luxor.

Today you will explore the West bank of Luxor, the most famous excavation sites in the world known as the Valley of the Kings where the magnificent tombs were discovered including the famous boy King Tutankhamun. A visit to the Temple of Madinat Habu and Dier El Madina, a very special workman’s village where the original craftsmen built and decorated the tombs of the Pharaohs. Then on to the two enormous and impressive Colossi of Memnon, the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III. Back to your Nile River Cruise boat for lunch, spa time, and sailing to Esna.

A leisurely start with sailing along the Nile to Edfu with excellent views of daily life unchanged for centuries. Once in Edfu, you will visit the Temple of Edfu, an awe-inspiring temple dedicated to the God Horus (falcon-headed God). Back to your Nile cruise for lunch, whilst sailing to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honour of these two deities, Sobek being known as the God of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus.

Early sail to Aswan whilst enjoying breakfast and views on board. All day until early afternoon to enjoy the spa and relaxation time before heading off with your tour guide to visit the famous Aswan High Dam. This will be followed by an exploration of Philae Temple, a Nubian Temple rescued before the floods, then enjoy a visit to the Nubian Museum by motorboat. More spa time to relax on return to the Nile Cruise with dinner and free time to explore Aswan in the evening either individually.

Disembarkation from your Nile River cruise and transfer to Aswan Airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo. Transfer to hotel with the balance of day at leisure to explore Cairo on your own.
