Leaving Istanbul behind, we will proceed to Canakkale, one of the most emotionally touching places in Turkey. Here will visit the WWI Battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, Johnston’s Jolly, original trenches and tunnels, The Nek and the Gallipoli Museum. Then across the Dardanelles Strait by ferryboat to Canakkale, where hotel is located.

This morning we will visit the Ancient Troy and see the current excavations. Your tour guide will be escorting you through 9 layers of old cities, the Trojan Horse and the remaining of the Trojan War. Then proceed to the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples and library made Pergamum a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. Finally, we will arrive in Kusadasi at late evening for overnight stay.

Begin the tour at the House of Virgin Mary, where she spent her final years. Explore the marble white ancient city of Ephesus, with spectacular monuments such as the Library of Celsus, Agora, Odeon, Trajan Fountain, Hadrian’s Gate, Domitianus Temple, Theater and Roman Latrines. After lunch, visit the Temple of Artemis and Isabey Mosque. As carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey, we will visit a carpet village and learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.

This morning you’ll enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods, before heading to Pamukkale. Drive to Pamukkale or ‘Cotton Castle’. Following lunch break, visit the ancient Roman City ruins of Hierapolis. Explore the magnificently preserved Necropolis, Avenue of Tombs, Gates, Thermal Baths, Devil’s Hole and also the Masterpiece Theater. Free time for Cleopatra’s pool.

As the sun casts amber tones on the lime terraces you head off towards Cappadocia, the next base for your Turkey adventure. Drive via Konya city, where Seljuk architecture and an air of serenity radiate through the streets. You’ll visit the famous Mevlana Museum, where ancient copies of the Koran are housed in the original home of the city’s whirling dervishes. Proceed to Cappadocia via Sultanhani Caravansary and along the way. This evening will offer you the unique opportunity to sleep in a traditional Cappadocian cave hotel.

In the morning section of the tour, you will explore Devrent and Monk’s Valley, to see the extraordinary mushroom-shaped rock pinnacles or ‘fairy chimneys’. Continue on to the small village of Avanos, famous for clay pottery design. After lunch, proceed to the Goreme Open Air Museum, featuring the most impressive rock-carved churches and Byzantine frescoes in all Cappadocia. Finally visit the Kaymakli Underground City, which hid local Christians from Arab invaders.
