Frequently Asked Questions

Q.1Why should we book with you?

• Protect yourself by booking with a legal fully licensed TURSAB operator.
• Save money as travel agencies always get better rates than the customers.
• Save time by having us promptly organize all the hotels, flights, tours, transfers etc.
• Tailor your dream vacation with a local travel expert.

Q.2When is the best time to visit Egypt?

Most tourists choose to travel to Egypt in winter (November-April), when average temperatures range from highs of 79 and lows of 55. Summer is hot (May-October), with average highs of 104 and lows of 76.

Q.3Do we need a visa for Egypt?

Yes, everyone is required to have a visa in order to enter Egypt. Visas can be applied for at any Egyptian embassy or consulate in your country of residence, anywhere in the world.

Citizens of the following countries can also purchase a 1 Month Entry Visa on arrival:

United States, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Cost Rica, Ecuador, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Macedonia, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Serbia, and Ukraine.

However, if you intend staying for longer than a month, or if your tour package includes visiting other Middle Eastern countries, then we recommend applying for a 3 Month Multiple Entry visa prior to arriving in Egypt.

NOTE: Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in the country.

Q.4Is it safe to travel to Egypt?

Egypt has been a premier tourist destination for centuries, and the Egyptian people have always welcomed tourists with open arms. Despite the current political situation in the country, Egypt is still a very safe country to visit. Mass demonstrations are for the most part peaceful, and are typically confined to small areas in Cairo and other cities, none of which affect our tour itineraries.

Additionally, since all our tours include a personal guide and driver, you’ll be in the company of a staff member at all times. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and satisfaction of our customers, and the guide that will be assigned to you will under no circumstance take you anywhere where your personal safety might be at risk. Our company, including our guides, are well informed regards to current conditions in the country, and if need be, we will immediately inform you if any changes need to be made to your original itinerary.

Q.5Do we need to purchase travel insurance before traveling in Egypt?

Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Veni Vidi Travel are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their tour. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your tour leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey. Check for insurance policies that cover trip cancellation/interruption, travel/baggage delay or loss and medical expenses.

Q.6Are there any special customs I should observe?

Yes, most Egyptian customs differ from the Western customs due to the cultural and religious differences, as shown below:
1. Most women in Egypt behave conservatively with strangers.
2. Normal contact is quite acceptable, but intimate actions in the public such as kissing and fondling may irritate most Muslims.
3. Most mosques require visitors to remove their shoes before entering.
4. Use the right hand to eat and give gifts.
5. It is inappropriate to discuss religions with Egyptians from an atheistic or similar perspective.
6. It is inapt to take photos of soldiers, tanks or any other military property.

Q.7What does a ‘Independent Tour’ mean?

These are the tours the free spirits typically prefer. On an independent tour you set your own schedule and you won’t be with a group. With an independent tour vacation, you’ll still enjoy having your hotel, flight tickets, transportation, excursions, and some meals included with your package, but the rest is up to you. Many people prefer independent tour vacations for the freedom, flexibility and privacy they offer.

Unless stated otherwise, all our tours are “private tours” which include your own personal guide and driver. If your tour includes a Nile River cruise, this leg of your tour is not private, although you will have your own private cabin on board the cruise ship.

Q.8Can we choose our own start and finish dates for a trip?

Yes you can. All of our tours can be started any day of the year you like, in most cases, subject to availability. Or just let us know your exact start and end travel dates and we can shorten/lengthen any trip to suit your dates.

Q.9What is the process of organizing travel services with your company?

1- We respond to your request via email or phone with an outline itinerary based on the information you have provided us with. We may still need to ask you additional questions and/or offer our suggestions.

2- Your travel consultant will use his/her personal knowledge to match your likes, dislikes and preferences. He/She then checks the availability of services, transport schedules, alternative times and routes. Puts together a package most suitable to your requests and budget.

3- If you have agreed to proceed, with the completion of required documents, we start your pre-bookings and secure services.

* Please note : We/you may fine tune the itinerary as many times as you wish. If the bookings have been made, changes thereafter may depend on the availability of services.

Q.10Is airfare included in programs? Can we book our international flight through you?

Our tours do not include international airfare. You can purchase your airfare tickets through the internet or a wholesaler. By booking your own flight, you have more flexibility and control of your choices – in real time.

Q.11When and how I will receive my tour documents?

Travel documents and electronic flight tickets are usually sent 21 days prior to departure. However, upon arrival in Egypt you will receive tour vouchers, maps, ferry or domestic flight tickets and other required information. A welcome package will be waiting for you at your hotel.

Q.12Can I change my tour itinerary after getting confirmations?

Once the tour documents and tickets have been issued, changes can only be made if airline and supplier conditions permit. Accommodation, flights, cruise, and private tours cannot be changed or revised 72 working hours prior to departure dates. €75 of additional fee will be charged, for any change you will make on your confirmed tour program.
